Best ways to create your memberships

Informative article for creating your memberships according to your needs

Here are the different types of memberships that can be created on the platform. You can find them under Menu > Membership List > Add a Membership.

Recurring

These memberships are set up for a period determined by you. They therefore have a defined start date and end date. Payments will be scheduled throughout the membership period. You can adjust them using the Billing Frequency and Number of Billing Cycles fields.

For example, a 12-month unlimited membership with monthly payments would be a suitable option.

Billing Frequency: How often will the member be billed? For example, customers can be billed every two weeks or once a month.

Number of Billing Cycles: This determines the length of your contract based on the number of billing cycles. For example, 12 cycles billed once a month represent a 12-month membership with monthly payments.

Auto renew

These memberships renew automatically according to the billing frequency you set. To stop these memberships, you must manually cancel them from the member’s profile.

For example, this type of membership would be a good option for a lifetime membership.

Packs

This is a type of membership with a one-time payment. You can define a maximum number of classes that the member can use at any time, without restrictions.

Using these different membership types, you can create the memberships you need based on the restrictions and conditions you want to apply.

Session

Session memberships are used to provide access to specific classes within a specified time period. When buying, the user will need to select which class they want to attend and will be automatically enrolled in that class. Ex : Winter 12 weeks session 2x/week - You will choose; the start date, the duration and the classes to which this session gives access.

A few examples

Creating drop-ins

Create a membership of the Class Card type and select the classes that members will be able to attend as a drop-in. Then complete the required fields and set the limit to one class.

The member may purchase the drop-in directly from the calendar of the class they want to attend, and they will be automatically registered.

Multiple payments for a Class Card

First, create a Recurring membership and set up the payments according to the billing frequency and number of billing cycles.

In the following field, you can select a limit called Classes per Membership, which determines the number of classes available with this membership.

Payments with different amounts

Create a Recurring membership. You will find a field called Custom Payment Plan. By selecting Yes, you can then configure the custom payments.

This option allows you to offer a membership that is paid off more quickly, even if the end date is later.

Day Pass: How It Works

A day pass provides access to the gym for a defined number of calendar days.

  • 1-day pass: The membership expires at 11:59 p.m. on the day of purchase, according to your gym’s time zone.

  • Multi-day pass, for example, 3 days: The membership expires at 11:59 p.m. on the last valid day. For example, if it is purchased on April 21, it expires on April 23 at 11:59 p.m.

Hour Pass: How It Works

An hour pass provides access for a rolling number of hours starting at the time of purchase.

  • Example: A 24-hour pass purchased at 10:03 a.m. on Tuesday expires at 10:03 a.m. on Wednesday.

  • The expiration time is displayed in your gym’s time zone on the member’s profile and in the contract.

Important rules for hour passes

  • Only one payment is required at the time of purchase.

  • Class reservations are allowed as long as the class starts before the pass expires.

  • Access is granted while the pass is active and denied as soon as it expires.

  • The pass starts at the time of purchase, and its duration cannot be modified.

  • Automatic renewal is not available for hour passes.

  • Hour passes are not available for “Session” memberships.

  • Installment payments and multiple billing frequencies are not available.

  • Hour passes cannot be suspended or paused.

  • Class limits based on the number of sessions are not available for hour passes.

  • An hour pass cannot be scheduled for a future date or programmed to start after another pass.
