There are two ways to apply a discount to a membership: either by creating a promo code your members can use, or by manually applying a $ or % discount to a specific membership.
1. Creating a promotion with a promo code
To allow your members to use a promo code at checkout:
Go to the left-hand menu: Promotions > Add Promotion
Enter the code your members will need to use
Select the Promotion Type: Membership
Choose the type of discount ($ or %) and enter the value
Set the total use limit for this code
Under the Restrictions section, add a restriction by type: Membership
Select the memberships eligible for this promo code
Then, you will be able to track the use of your promotional codes to find out, how many times it was used and by clicking in the number, you will have access to the detailed list of members.
2. Manually adding a discount to a specific membership
You can also manually apply a $ or % discount directly to a membership when registering a member, without using a code.
The discount is automatically applied to the total cost of the membership.
Example: a 1-year membership costs $1200, split into 12 monthly payments of $100
If you apply a 40% discount, the member will pay $720 in total, or $60/month
If you apply a $300 discount, the member will pay $900 in total, or $75/month
Note: The discount always applies to the full value of the membership and is spread across all payments.
Editing a discount during an active membership
If you want to adjust or remove a discount partway through the membership:
Go to the member’s profile
Open the Membership tab
Click the three dots on the right side of the membership
Select Edit Discount
Set the discount to 0 $ or 0 % if you no longer want a discount on future payments
You can also do the opposite: start with no discount and add one during the membership using this same process.
